Apologies if anyone has received an email from email@example.com written by Tony Jacobs, our previous Vice Chairman, with regard to Dealers/Suppliers. An update to some software reinstated the status of an old email and automatically resent it. This has now been rectified so please ignore that email.
For information Derek Green is currently responsible for our Commercial Liaison arrangements and if you have any suggestions with regard to Dealers or Suppliers please contact him on firstname.lastname@example.org.
At the AGM to be held at Stratford Racecourse on 2-7 May 2019 we will be electing members of the Committee and there are some vacancies for posts. In particular we will need a new Rallies Coordinator. This post is vital if we are to continue to run rallies. If you are interested please contact Richard Hackett, the Club Chairman, either by phone on 07545 025366 or by email to email@example.com.
We now have details of the Danish Bürstner Owners’ Club 10th Anniversary Rally being held at Middelfart from 27 July to 3 August 2019. They have invited our club and also the Swedish, Norwegian and Dutch Bürstner clubs.
The good news is that they will welcome all of our members including associates and that there is no limit on numbers. As this is not one of our official rallies can I ask you to book directly via the link in the attached file below but can you also please let Sue Hackett (firstname.lastname@example.org) know when you’ve booked please.
In 2019 the Danish Bürstnerklub will be 10 years old and we, along with the Norwegian, Dutch and Swedish Bürstner Clubs, have been invited to participate in their celebrations. More details can be found here and there will be more information later in the year. Watch this space for further information!
Burstner UK Owners’ Club Rallies for 2019 and Warners Shows for 2019 are now available to view and book from the website under Rallies/Events 2019. When booking for the Warners Shows please book direct with them but request to be sited with the Burstner UK Owners’ Club, we are normally pitched very close to the exhibition area. We still need volunteers to marshal the Warners Shows, if you are able to help with this please contact Ray Doust (email@example.com).
If you would like to join our Facebook Bürstner UK Owners’ Club Members’ Forum then please click on the Facebook icon at the top of this website and it will take you directly to this page and then ask you to log into Facebook or create a new account. Alternatively if you are already logged into Facebook then search for Bürstner UK Owners’ Club Members’ Forum (don’t forget the last two words to get you to the correct page). You can then request to join this group.
This group is a closed group and for security and privacy reasons is only accessible and viewable to fully paid up members of the Bürstner UK Owners’ Club. You will then be asked for your membership number. Membership will only be approved once you have provided this information.
The BUKOC Committee has reviewed the requirements of the new General Data Protection Regulation and have released a Policy Statement which can be found here.
At the AGM it was decided that the following Charity would be our Club nominated Charity for this year.
Hope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity, bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via our Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs).
As a cancer charity, we understand that time is a crucial factor for patients, and in 2007 we launched the world’s first ever Mobile Cancer Care Unit (previously Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones.
We develop, build, provide and maintain MCCUs to support patients who are going through Chemotherapy by alleviating the stresses and strains of travelling for appointments, along with reducing hospital waiting times.
We work in a unique partnership with the NHS helping to ease capacity challenges at hospital trusts. We now have 10 MCCUs operational in Gloucestershire, Somerset, South Wiltshire, Hampshire, East Kent, Lincolnshire, Cornwall, West Suffolk, East Essex and London/ Surrey, with two reserve MCCUs in place to ensure continuity of service during the maintenance schedule. We also provide a Nurses Support Vehicle with each MCCU, which allows the nursing team to travel to and from the daily treatment locations.
Since the launch of the first Mobile Cancer Care Unit (previously Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) in 2007, the charity has saved patients a total of over 2,000,000 miles and over 170,000 hours of travel and waiting time.
The charity won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation, in 2016. The Award is the UK’s highest accolade for business success, and was made in recognition of our achievements since the Founder, Christine Mills MBE, set up Hope for Tomorrow in 2003.
